January Rotary Meetings in Review
It was a successful month for the DSV Rotary with exciting updates to share!
David was honored with his Paul Harris +3.
We welcomed Dawn Atwood as a new member.
We also heard a moving presentation about the recent international service trip to Guatemala, where our members distributed wheelchairs and helped bring technology to the classroom through the “Rachel Project.”
Additionally, we were honored to host Steve Murphy, the President of Cristo Rey De La Salle, who shared about the Catholic high school in East Oakland. DSV Rotary also made a generous donation of $500 to the school and David and Jim are organizing a visit for those interested.
Overall, a wonderful month filled with service and giving back to the community.
Welcome, Dawn!
We are thrilled to introduce our newest member, Dawn Atwood, who joined DSV Rotary last month.
A former Rotarian from the San Jose area, Dawn brings a wealth of experience in the mortgage industry, with a focus on reverse mortgages.
In her free time, Dawn shares her love for dogs by working as a professional dog walker, trainer, and dog sitter.
With her beautiful heart for helping others, Dawn is energetic, fun, and ready to make a difference in our community.
We are honored to have her as a part of our Club and can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will achieve with us.
Sweet Beginnings
Dapper Diaper Donations
We are excited to share with you the success of our recent Diaper Drive during the holidays. Thanks to the contributions of many of our Rotarians, we were able to collect nearly 3500 diapers and a large number of wipes.
These diapers were donated to Sweet Beginnings, a non-profit organization in Martinez, whose services assist the most vulnerable population of our community. Sweet Beginnings is a 100 percent volunteer run program and they are distributing over 15,000 diapers a month and are being asked for more.
This drive is a great example of how we as Rotarians can come together to make a real difference in the lives of those in our community. We are proud of our efforts and grateful for your support. By supporting organizations like Sweet Beginnings, we are not only providing a practical need, but also helping families in crisis and strengthening our community.
